A Suitcase and Go

Finally - this has been in the making forever.  Here I am almost a month later finishing my last post about Hawaii. Livability for me :  50% - I mean, it would completely be a dream… having the water next to you and the sun shining all the time - what more can you ask for? While I would love it, I just don't think I'd get the same opportunities as I do in the continental US in terms of my job.  Plus working East Coast time while in Hawaii was so tough (considering I'm not a morning person at all).  Maybe retirement? I’ve been so bad about keeping up with the blog.  My schedule has been crazy with work and my afternoons and weekends are filled with activities and beach days.  It’s all been amazing and I wouldn’t change a minute of it.   Here are highlights and pictures from the rest of the trip in case you are visiting Oahu: Hiking - I went on 3 big hikes while here and learned a few things (i n case you’re curious the 3 hikes were: Diamond Head, Wiliwilinue Ridge Trail and Makiki Valley Trail) Always be prepared - my last hike was completely messy and muddy, I literally was covered in mud.  It rained 90% of the time I was hiking too so everything was super slippery.  I made it down fine though once I told myself I’m just going to get dirty and deal with it. Always bring something waterproof to put your phone in - I took out my phone plenty of times to take pictures of the beautiful view, in the end I got water damage and had to get a new phone - not fun.   E...

I can't believe 2 weeks are already gone. I've been trying to soak in as much of the island as possible.  A lot of people have suggested I should do some island hopping, unfortunately due to Covid, I don't think that will be possible. Nevertheless, I'm really trying to take in everything Oahu has to offer.   Last week, I started with an Island tour, figured that would be the best way to know where I wanted to explore more. It was fun and there were actually some other tourist from Boston - go figure. It gave me a few highlights of the island that I'll explore further once I have a car. Here are some highlights from the week: Helicopter over Oahu - One of my most favorite adventures ever. I opted for a 60 minute ride with doors off. It was fun and breathtaking to see the island from high up.  My pilot was awesome and explained some history of the island as we were flying over. I had such a wonderful experience. Destination 4 in Honolulu, HI more specifically Waikiki Beach.  To be honest a week later and I can barely believe that I’m here for a month (well now 3 weeks)!  When I arrived last Friday I was a bit shocked.  One, it was very busy (I mean what happened to Covid) and two, I was in a total touristy area and it felt like I was on spring break. I told myself it would take a week to settle in. That’s where I am now and feel right at home. My Airbnb is perfect, 1 minute from the beach, and has a little balcony which I use for my early morning workdays.  I get up around 3 am for work, but it's so peaceful outside with the birds chirping, so I don't mind it.   My first week has been really amazing...
