Here It Beings

I did something a bit crazy for me, I left the apartment I loved (and I really mean loved... it was this cute little studio apartment in a great building, that had the perfect layout) in Jersey City, NJ and moved my stuff to my parents' house and decided to travel the country. 

I made the decision on October 16, 2020.  That's the day I booked my first Airbnb in San Francisco that would be the start of this journey and told my leasing office I was moving out on December 9.  Packing and moving was intense, after 7 years of being in the same apartment, I had so much stuff. 

After about 3 weeks with my parents in Boston, I moved to San Francisco, CA.  I'm going to be sharing a little bit about this adventure, since everyone has been saying I should share a blog with pictures and thoughts.  So enjoy!  And for all the awesome and super supportive people in my life - the ones who told me how excited they are to hear about everything, want pictures and were just supportive as a talked about this whole plan, I love you guys lots. :)

I’ve been so bad about keeping up with the blog.  My schedule has been crazy with work and my afternoons and weekends are filled with activities and beach days.  It’s all been amazing and I wouldn’t change a minute of it.   Here are highlights and pictures from the rest of the trip in case you are visiting Oahu: Hiking - I went on 3 big hikes while here and learned a few things (i n case you’re curious the 3 hikes were: Diamond Head, Wiliwilinue Ridge Trail and Makiki Valley Trail) Always be prepared - my last hike was completely messy and muddy, I literally was covered in mud.  It rained 90% of the time I was hiking too so everything was super slippery.  I made it down fine though once I told myself I’m just going to get dirty and deal with it. Island Life

Destination 4 in Honolulu, HI more specifically Waikiki Beach.  To be honest a week later and I can barely believe that I’m here for a month (well now 3 weeks)!  When I arrived last Friday I was a bit shocked.  One, it was very busy (I mean what happened to Covid) and two, I was in a total touristy area and it felt like I was on spring break. I told myself it would take a week to settle in. That’s where I am now and feel right at home. My Airbnb is perfect, 1 minute from the beach, and has a little balcony which I use for my early morning workdays.  I get up around 3 am for work, but it's so peaceful outside with the birds chirping, so I don't mind it.   My first week has been really amazing... Being A Country Girl In Nashville

This week I decided to stay in Nashville. I basically just spent the week eating and exploring.   Highlights: Country Music Hall Of Fame - I’m not into country music besides a few pop/country songs, however this was such an nice experience to learn the history of the genre.  I loved everything about the museum.  It had so much background on the different artists, country sounds, and how the music became popular.  The rotunda was beautiful with all the plaques from artists that have been initiated into the Hall of Fame. Parthenon -  I debated on this one and whether touring inside would be worth it.  From the outside the Parthenon is magnificent and makes me want to visit Greece.  I recommend going and sitting in Centennial Park during sunset - you'll get some beautiful pictures.  After reading some reviews, I decided to go and tour the inside.
