Welcome To The Mountains

Landed safely in Denver, Colorado - stop 5 in this crazy adventure!  My first week in Denver has been so fun.  The weekdays are filled with work, walking around and eating lots of awesome food!  I rented a car the first weekend and had wonderful trip around Colorado Springs.  Highlights and pictures below.
  • Red Rocks - OMG I'm in love with it here.  I got up early and went for the sunrise.  Completely worth it - it was so beautiful coming up over the rocks.  Then I went hiking and took in the beautiful sites.  My goal is to come back here to see a concert - everyone has told me it’s a must do.
  • Highland Tap and Burger - I was recommended this restaurant specifically for the their mushroom and swiss burger - definitely did not disappoint.
  • Little Man Ice Cream - So many recommendations to come here, I can't even count.  I ate a lot more ice cream than I should have, but it was completely worth it.  They're ice cream just melts in your mouth.
  • Garden of the Gods - I came here to see the mountains and hike.  Very pretty and worth the day trip.  I took an off road adventure as well where the open air Jeep took us to see some incredible views.
  • Some other recommendations/highlights
    • Buffalo Bill burial ground (I didn't really know who he was before this, but I was happy I spent some time walking around his museum) and the views up the mountain were really pretty
    • Driving around Old Colorado City (which was established during the gold rush)
    • Avanti (cool concept, a bar and then you order food from different restaurants within the establishment)
    • Colorado Springs viewpoint on the highway (an incredible view of the mountains)

I’ve been so bad about keeping up with the blog.  My schedule has been crazy with work and my afternoons and weekends are filled with activities and beach days.  It’s all been amazing and I wouldn’t change a minute of it.   Here are highlights and pictures from the rest of the trip in case you are visiting Oahu: Hiking - I went on 3 big hikes while here and learned a few things (i n case you’re curious the 3 hikes were: Diamond Head, Wiliwilinue Ridge Trail and Makiki Valley Trail) Always be prepared - my last hike was completely messy and muddy, I literally was covered in mud.  It rained 90% of the time I was hiking too so everything was super slippery.  I made it down fine though once I told myself I’m just going to get dirty and deal with it. Always bring something waterproof to put your phone in - I took out my phone plenty of times to take pictures of the beautiful view, in the end I got water damage and had to get a new phone - not fun.   E...

Island Life

Destination 4 in Honolulu, HI more specifically Waikiki Beach.  To be honest a week later and I can barely believe that I’m here for a month (well now 3 weeks)!  When I arrived last Friday I was a bit shocked.  One, it was very busy (I mean what happened to Covid) and two, I was in a total touristy area and it felt like I was on spring break. I told myself it would take a week to settle in. That’s where I am now and feel right at home. My Airbnb is perfect, 1 minute from the beach, and has a little balcony which I use for my early morning workdays.  I get up around 3 am for work, but it's so peaceful outside with the birds chirping, so I don't mind it.   My first week has been really amazing... Being A Country Girl In Nashville

This week I decided to stay in Nashville. I basically just spent the week eating and exploring.   Highlights: Country Music Hall Of Fame - I’m not into country music besides a few pop/country songs, however this was such an nice experience to learn the history of the genre.  I loved everything about the museum.  It had so much background on the different artists, country sounds, and how the music became popular.  The rotunda was beautiful with all the plaques from artists that have been initiated into the Hall of Fame. Parthenon -  I debated on this one and whether touring inside would be worth it.  From the outside the Parthenon is magnificent and makes me want to visit Greece.  I recommend going and sitting in Centennial Park during sunset - you'll get some beautiful pictures.  After reading some reviews, I decided to go and tour the inside.
