Being A Country Girl In Nashville

Image
This week I decided to stay in Nashville. I basically just spent the week eating and exploring.   Highlights: Country Music Hall Of Fame - I’m not into country music besides a few pop/country songs, however this was such an nice experience to learn the history of the genre.  I loved everything about the museum.  It had so much background on the different artists, country sounds, and how the music became popular.  The rotunda was beautiful with all the plaques from artists that have been initiated into the Hall of Fame. Parthenon -  I debated on this one and whether touring inside would be worth it.  From the outside the Parthenon is magnificent and makes me want to visit Greece.  I recommend going and sitting in Centennial Park during sunset - you'll get some beautiful pictures.  After reading some reviews, I decided to go and tour the inside. I'm so glad I did.  It is wonderful.  There is an art gallery and a section to learn the...

Biscuits and Chattanooga

Image
The weather is so hot and muggy here.  It is nice that Nashville has plenty of scooters around, because its really too hot to walk around all day. Luckily, my second weekend in Nashville I rented a car and decided to visit Chattanooga and Franklin.   Highlights from week 2: Biscuit Love - Another place that several people/blogs have mentioned to visit.  The Gulch location is just a 10 minute walk from me.  I tried going on the first Saturday I was there, but the line was insane.  Instead I got up extra early before work and made my way over.  It did not disappoint, the biscuit was unbelievably good -- so many layers and buttery.  A total must try!  If you plan on visiting Nashville, plan on eating lots, the food is  really great. Pedestrian Bridge - Great views of the city and lake.  If you can, go during sunset, its really pretty to see the colors of the sky changing. Rock City in Chattanooga - Touristy, but I'm still happy I we...

Home of Country Music

After being home for 2 months, I'm ready to start traveling again.  Nashville is my next stop.  This place has been on  my bucket list forever!     My first week I spent exploring The Gulch area close to where I'm staying.  I wanted to get a lay of the land and my neighborhood for the month.  It’s a really nice area with lots of cute boutiques and restaurants around.  I walked to the famous Broadway section of town and went to Johnny Cash's Honky Tonk.  I loved it so much!  Such a cool vibe sitting at the bar listening to live music.  While I thought it would all be country, the musicians play everything.  Once the weekend hit, I was amazed by how different Nashville was.  Weekdays have a cool not overly busy vibe, but during the weekends everything is packed with bachelor and bachelorette parties.  The first weekend there really opened up my eyes to how lucky I was to be staying...

Exploring My Own Cities - Home in the East Coast (5/27-8/1)

Image
Finally updating - if feels like a lifetime has passed since I last updated.  My last few months have been so busy.  After Denver, I went home in June and July for some East Coast adventures. The 2 months were filled with so many great memories.  It was wonderful spending some time with my family and friends. Some highlights/adventures that stood out: Day trip to Deerfield, MA - Such an awesome day with my parents.  It's 2 hours away from our house, but it was worth the drive up to explore a different area of the state.  Some highlights from that trip include: Mount Sugarloaf State Reservation - The views from up top are beautiful. Yankee Candle Flagship Store - So many candles for such good deals.   Walking around the country store was really fun, they have a whole   Christmas section (all year around). Hiking Blue Hills - Great way to get your steps in and see some gorgeous views.   On a clear day, you can see the Boston skyline from Ellio...

Denver Final Thoughts (4/27-5/27)

Image
Wow, Denver, I loved being here more than I thought and can't believe how quickly my time went.  Livability for me - 100%   I can completely see myself living here for a little while.  Not sure it would be long term as the lack of ocean would probably get to me, but I could see myself here for some time.  The vibe in the city is just cool and I love all the nature.  Another plus is that getting around is super easy - I took like 2 car services the whole time, otherwise it was just bikes and scooters which I loved. Some final pics that didn't make earlier blogs.   I just love this picture - at Garden of the Gods Look at all the trees! My first picture of Union Station The Dancers statues in front of the Denver Performing Arts Center Street art while bike riding More street art Lovefest to Denver - love all the bright colors

The Colors Of Denver

My last weekend here I really wanted to focus on Denver itself.  I've been staying in LoHi, so I explored that area, the Highlands and downtown but hadn't explore much of the rest of Denver.    Here are some highlights from my last week or so of Denver: Sloan's Lake - This is in the Highlands area and a great place to walk or bike.   Plus the sunset over the water is really so beautiful.   Worth the trip and somewhere I can see myself constantly going if I lived in the area. RiNo Street Art - I'm so happy I spent the day exploring RiNo, so much color and street art.   Completely worth just walking around and checking out.   Plus tons of bars and restaurants in the area.   Literally every alley you go down has different art - there are so many incredible artist throughout the country and I'm happy to see they are getting recognition and the graffiti art generation is getting so big. City Park - Such a cool place to just chill and take in nat...
